When going in for a job interview, it is usually the hiring manager who makes the job offer, but you can put a deal on the table as well. Call it desperation, or call it savvy, you can offer the hiring manager a “trial run” period with you if you’re hired. That way they can test you out to whether you’re a good fit. You can do this trial run with no pay if you’d like. This is especially clever if you don’t have any job experience yet.
