3 Mistakes To Avoid When Filing An Insurance Claim

When trouble hits your home, your vehicle or your health, nothing’s more satisfying to have in your corner than insurance. Without it, you could be on the hook for hundreds, even thousands of dollars if something goes wrong. But even with insurance there are mistakes you could make when filing a claim that you want to avoid. Here are 3:

Talking too much – When filing a claim you, be sure to say all the right things and nothing more. Otherwise, you may be digging a hole for yourself.
Not getting enough information – Before filing a claim, be sure you have more than enough information (police reports, photos, email addresses, phone numbers, etc).
Assuming the insurance company is right – Once a claim has been filed, be sure to stay on top of everything and never just take the insurance company’s word as true.
