When it comes to renting an apartment, most people start with location and apartment size and leave it at that. It’s important to also take a closer look at the place and company that you’re renting from to ensure they aren’t running a scam.

The best way to ensure you don’t get scammed is to do a background check. Does the company have an online presence? This is really important to do if you see an apartment for say $700 and most units in the area are going for $1200. Also, check for social media reviews on the property and/ or property management company.
